Self Defence of the Future
a thought:
The Self Defense package of the future:
1. Video recording mechanism that records your life 24/7, and you have private property rights to the video. There is a hard drive on your person, or it streams over a wireless network. It can be your glasses, contacts, or something on your lapel. Nobody has access to this information except you.
2. A gun, or the equivalent of an offensive/defensive weapon. Perhaps a stun weapon or something else. It will be holstered on your hip. You will need a permit or license to carry this weapon, kids will not be able to do so, but they will have the video mechanism along with GPS. This gun can be either a killing weapon, something that knocks-out the target, or even something that hasn't been invented.
3. An alert is automatically sent to the police if you draw this offensive/defensive weapon from the holster. The alert sends out your GPS signal along with the streaming video and audio that #1 is recording. In essence, as soon as you pull out the gun, the video and audio becomes public property. It may be possible that only if you use the gun the video and audio becomes public property, but regardless, everybody who is an adult is armed.
4. The video and audio recording will be connected to you personal computer and will tell you if a crime is being committed along with advice and procedure if you need it. If a crime is being committed, it will give you the opportunity to send the recording of the crime to the police.
The legal tangles would be at a minimum since the private property rights of the video would be yours unless a specific subpoena was issued. With the encoding tech coming up, this should pose minimum risk. This would be a tremendous step forward in stopping and deterring all sorts of crimes. If a fellow citizen can see you, you are probably on candid camera.
